Meet the Masters Series on the art of Alfred Sisley. One of the less successful impressionists was Alfred Sisley. This landscape scene with a peasant girl is typical of his style. When teaching about the Impressionists this artist should be included because he was the most committed to his art as he was largely broke and had to support a family. All of the impressionists were plein air painters, or artists who painted out-of-doors. Sisley would suffer the cold elements or snow or the hot temperatures of summer. He basically suffered for his art. This drawing allows students to recreate one of his landscapes that depicts great detail as also depicted. 8.5×11”
