Classroom Sketchbook Concepts and Ideas

Two weeks worth of drawing lessons! Choose one or more of the following lessons to produce within your sketchbook. If you produce only one lesson then make sure it shows enough work to cover two weeks worth of work.

Concepts:

  1. Find one or more animal photos from the available magazines and humanize them. Place them in clothes doing everyday chores or put them all in a party socializing.

  2. Using only 6 squares, 6 triangles, 6 circles place them on a page in such a manner that they all inter-relate to each other. Strive to display balance, symmetery, and order. Add color in a manner that also bring continuity to your work.

  3. Create a self-portrait of only symbols from the magazines in the classroom. Cut and paste your image in a profile of yourself or actually try to create a portrait as you choose.

  4. Take one or more objects in the room and morph them together to create an interesting drawing.

  5. Take any object in the classroom and reinterpret it into something else as a drawing. Example: A chair becomes an octopus, etc.
