In this lesson of beginning to draw portraits the first dynamic is to understand how a face is constructed upon its skull. This is an exercise in understanding proportions of how all human skulls have the same basic design. The differences between one persons skull and someone elses is usually in the width of the cheek bones and the protrusion pf the chin. Another subtle difference is the width of the space between the eye cavities. Using the light tablets create contour cavities to capture your shading depth as you recreate the skulls below.
