Welcome to Visual Art Comprehensive Level I

August 19th-21st

-Ritual and Routines

All assignments are due by Thursday of each week, no later. This allows me time to grade, review and contact students on Fridays and to prepare for the coming week. You will be asked to make digital images of your assignments to post to me on a regular basis. That email address is ihs.db@yahoo.com. In class the culture is one of respect. I choose to treat each of you as an adult, is so doing I expect your behavior and maturity to have developed so that you can enjoy this class without having to be mandated to perform the work.

-How am I graded?

I have produced a pass/fail system. Either you will earn a passing grade of 100 or a failing grade of 60. This is due to the fact that art is subjective. No one has a right to state that your individual art is incorrect or wrong as it would be in math, etc. However, if you make no effort in art class then you will surely deserve a 60. This will be evident in your portfolio of work as evidence of your efforts. If you choose to sleep in class then you can be assured of earning a 60. Due to the pandemic you can largely choose to sleep when you want being that we will all be working from home for a while. You are to make a digital image of each work of art and post it to me at ihs.db@yahoo.com. Many assignments have an assessment submit button that goes directly to my email so that I can save your assignment into a dedicated web folder with your name. In this way I can check to see if you have completed all the work as the year progresses.

    Contract Between Myself and Mr. Bonnell

As a student of Mr. Daniel Bonnell I recognize that he has chosen to instruct me in the same manner as an adult with all those respectful dynamics. I realize that I alone am responsible for my behavior. I realize that being treated and respected as a mature individual has responsibilities that undergird such behavior. Therefore I am contacting with Mr. Bonnell that I will behave as a responsible student and will not sleep, swear, be disrespectful of others, will not bully anyone, ever. I will respect Mr. Bonnell with his choices as regards to my cell phone usage. I also understand that he will notify my parents if I default on this contract of behavior.
